JOB ANNOUNCEMENT
Code Enforcement Officer / Animal Control Officer
Full-Time : 40 hrs/week (minimum 32 hrs to maintain full-time status)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM (Evenings/weekends as needed)
Salary: TBD based on experience.
Position Overview
The City of St. Anthony is accepting applications for a Code Enforcement Officer / Animal Control Officer. This position is responsible for enforcing nuisance, zoning, and property maintenance codes, conducting inspections, issuing citations,
maintaining records, and overseeing animal control operations within city limits.
Primary Responsibilities
• Conduct field inspections, document violations, and issue citations.
• Perform follow-up inspections on non-compliant properties.
• Respond to call-outs from Police, Public Works, Engineering, and other departments.
• Prepare reports and assist with presentations to City Council.
• Research and interpret City codes and state statutes.
• Communicate professionally with the public regarding enforcement processes.
• Animal Control: Capture stray animals, manage traps, coordinate with Idaho Fish & Game, handle wildlife calls, issue citations, and ensure humane care at the City dog pound.
Minimum Qualifications
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience in code enforcement, law enforcement, or related fields preferred.
• Valid Idaho Driver’s License.
• Ability to work independently with strong judgment and professionalism.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Proficiency with computers, digital records, and office software.
Work Environment
• Field-based work with regular travel to inspection sites.
• Outdoor work in a variety of weather conditions.
• Routine interaction with domestic animals and wildlife.
• Random drug testing.
